For those who are unaware on aftertreatement maintenance, we follow these general guidelines, which is relatively close for most manufacturer-specific guidelines:

Mandatory Aftertreatment Service
- Should be performed every 150,000 miles / 4500 hours
- Includes The Following:
- Hydrocarbon Doser Replacement
- DEF Tank Flushing
- DEF Filter Replacements
- SCR Dozer Cleaning / Testing
- Inspection / Removal of crystal deposit in Aftertreatment Piping.
DPF / DOC Service
- Should be performed every 250,000 miles / 6500 hours
- DPF / DOC removal, cleaned or replaced.
Aftertreatment Diagnostics
- Includes troubleshooting with manufacturer software.
- Should be performed if the following is occurring:
- Fault Codes related to these keywords: ‘DPF’, ‘DOC’, ‘DEF’, ‘Afertertment’, ‘NOX’, ‘Exhaust Gas’ are present.
- Frequent parked regenerations are requested.
- black ‘soot’ is present on engine or any exhaust component.
- excessive white crystals found on undercarriage of unit.
- excessive white / black / blue / grey smoke coming from exhaust.
- Poor fuel economy, and/or loss of power.
